About indiePub

Welcome to indiePub, a community of indie game developers and players. Our goal is to promote indie games by providing developers with the resources they need to make great games, and by giving them an outlet to share their works with a supportive audience.

Are you here to...

MAKE games?

Game development is a wonderful craft, and we want everyone to know about it. We provide you with tutorials, tools, and a helpful community. Whether you are a beginner or professional, or are just curious about the development process, indiePub is the place to be.

  • We regularly hold development contests with big cash prizes. We even offer multi-platform publishing contracts to the best games on our site, allowing you to put your game onto consoles and into stores.

  • You can allow curious onlookers to peek into the inner workings of your game if you upload game assets – like images, music, and even source code – directly to a game page.

  • Any kind of developer – including programmers, artists, musicians, and writers – can share their portfolio with the community.

  • Stop by our forums to hang out with our awesome community of game developers and players! Look through our articles for indie game news, development tutorials, and videos.

PLAY games?

IndiePub is more than just a place to get your fix for fun online games: it’s a source for indie game news, a place for exciting contests, and a fun community. We’ve also got plenty of giveaways and prizes for our active community members.

  • We offer both Flash and non-Flash games. We know it’s a hassle to download, install, and launch a non-Flash game, so that’s why we made the Simple Play feature: with a single click, you can launch any game on the site.

  • By playing games and being active in our community, you can earn experience points, be awarded badges, and level up. Win prizes and get swag by being an active member of the indiePub!

  • Are you interested in learning about how games are made? Check out the assets page to see the art, music and writing that goes into making some of the games on the site.

  • We provide our developers with resources and incentives to make great games for you to play.

Name: Robin
Job: Designer
Bio: Barbie dolls & My Little Ponies were my thing as a kid; I actually still own all of them. However Batman always stole my heart. I'm a DC girl through and through, and I'll go up against the best of them about comics. This chicks' alter ego is none other than the feline fatale, Catwoman. But when I'm not pouncing from rooftop to rooftop at night, I make video game packaging look bad ass during the day.

Name: Neil
Job: Graphic Designer & Creative
Bio: If I could transform into any animal, I would be a falcon. Love & Honor. OS X. Guinness. Life is like a box of chocolates. Hammer time. Hiking into the unknown. Ocarina of Time. Enjoy experiencing deja vu. Likely to listen to The Format, Panic at the Disco, The Shins, or the Hush Sound while designing. AIGA. Legos. Toy Story. Nintendo Fanboy. Think Green.

Name: Terence
Job: Producer, Game Developer
Bio: This one time, I was at the grocery store, and saw a contest for little kids to guess the number of jellybeans in a jar. I cut in front of the 8-year-olds and measured the jar's height and circumference in beans, did some simple math, and put my form in. 531 beans was my guess. Hours later, I got a call and they told me I won.
"Your parents will have to sign a form."
"Don't worry, I'm over 18."
"Oh. Um, okay."
I went to the store immediately and claimed my prize of 539 jelly beans. Hah, those dumb kids, they probably guessed something stupid like a hundred or a million. I ate many of them as I drove back home.

Name: Mary
Job: Marketing and video editor
Bio: During the day shoot and edit video, but I spend the majority of my evenings watching cartoons. I’m a big believer in classics like Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, and Doug, but I get down with shows from this century too. My all time favorite killer of youth is Jason Vorhees, and yes I saw the one where he went into space. I also enjoy Ring pops, air soft guns, and chain-sawing mass locusts in Gears of War 2.

Name: Rachel
Job: Marketing Manager
Bio: I’m all about old-school. Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Castlevania. They’re not old, they’re classics. And I don’t care what anyone says, Q*bert was awesome. I make the marketing happen around here with the help of all of these amazing people. When I'm not pushing games, I'm either being domestic in the kitchen or watching football - yes, I'm an enigma. If you have an affinity for Mel Brooks, paad thai or Rilo Kiley, we're already friends - you just don't know it yet.

Name: Art
Job: Illustrator
Bio: Creating ART is my PASSION!!! I absolutely LOVE to draw and paint and it's basically all I do alllll the time. Gaming took a back seat when I got to college but I still keep up with games and obsess about a new game every couple months or so...some being: Zelda (always), Counter Strike, Enemy Territory, TF2, Mario kart, Worms, and recently Just Dance. Uh huh, JUST DANCE! I love art from cave paintings to digital illustration...but I think most modern art/abstract art is total crap. I love animation and work on my own projects in my "spare" time. Futurama and Calvin and Hobbes are gods among men. I enjoy constantly learning and sucking up all I can on Art, Film, Tech. I've been playing games since PONG... I have a Coleco Vision, a PONG box thingy, a Master System, 2 Genesis's ( or is it "genesi"?), a 32X, a Wii, 3 Xbox's modded with XBMC, a GBA, A DS lite, a PSP, and an N64. In High school I had 3 video game magazine subscriptions. I loved watching GamePro on TV on Saturday and I'd tape it on VHS so I could watch it over and over. I am a freak for RPGs and spent a large portion of High School playing every one I could on the Sega Genesis. I used to draw the Street Fighter characters life size. I'm a Sega Boy turned Nintendo Boy. Sorry Sega, you gave me no choice!!! I LOVE film a lot too, but I hate horror movies. I like to keep my world happy and positive ^_^
I enjoy spending time with my family when I'm not working on art stuff ... also I LOVE art, and it's basically all I do.. did I mention that?

Name: Jason
Job: Web Developer
Bio: Old school RPGs are one of my favorite time-killers. I like to rock out Earthbound once a year, one of my favorite games of all time. Another of my favorite games is FF7, which I feel goes without saying for most RPG fans. I also really like to watch anime and read manga, especially One Piece. I am a huge dork for anything to do with One Piece so if anyone ever wants to discuss the show/manga with me I'm down. I am the new Webguy for 2Bee, so if you want to give props for any of the new features the site has or complain about anything site-related, hit me up.
