Description

Game Type: Windows PCFile Size: 48.69mb

Block BUSTER is inspired by the old classics such as the original Atari Breakout from 1976, Arkanoid, Galaxion, Space Invaders and many other similar classics, now modernized for the modern day and technology.

Block BUSTER is a full 3D immersive game giving the player complete control over the camera and the paddle in all 3 dimensions. We aren’t just making the boxes look 3D, we’ve actually made them 3D, stacking boxes behind boxes for a more challenging and exhilarating experience. The ball and paddle don’t only move left to right, but they also move in and out, and get smaller as they get further away. Without shadows to guide you only the most avid gamers with excellent eye/hand coordination will be able to diligently track the balls movement and rebound it with the paddle.

As players progress through levels, they will experience increasingly more challenging game play. Objects will get smaller, or move faster, items will drop from above, some dangerous and some providing new power-ups. Blocks will morph into ships as the player graduates from the simulator to the Intergalactic Planetary Defense Force. The ships themselves will begin to attack causing more challenge for the gamer, as he tries to dodge dangers and defeat the invaders.

As the player completes each level they are saving a portion of the planet. A map will be available showing what sectors are cleared and which are still under attack. Clear all sectors to save the planet and win the game. Do it in the fastest time or with the highest score and perhaps you’ll make it into the online hall of fame.

Enhancing legacy classics like never before; fathers and sons; mothers and daughters; will be able to share their wonderful memories with the modern thrill of high-tech gaming.

Instructions

Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the first level. The game gets increasingly difficult and much faster paced as the levels increase. The game is very self explanatory. When the game starts a short video plays. Press the “A” key on a controller or the left mouse button to skip the video and go to the main menu. Use the arrow keys or mouse wheel to navigate the menu. At times the BACKSPACE will return to the previous menu, or the right mouse button. Before choosing a game to start you can navigate to the options screen and choose a different resolution and full screen if you’d prefer. This requires you to restart the game. When in the game settings screen press the left mouse button “A” to save, then the right mouse button “B” to step backward to the previous menus back to the main screen. Choose either Training or Campaign, choose your difficulty level then start the game. After a moment it’ll prompt you to press “A” to start. If you don’t have an Xbox controller you can press the left mouse button for “A” and the right mouse button for “B”. You use the mouse to move a paddle left/right and forward/back. Keep the ball from hitting the ground be deflecting it with the paddle. Each time the ball hits the ground you lose some energy. When the energy bar reaches zero the game ends. Hold the right mouse button while moving the mouse, to swing the camera in full 3D around the arena. Use the mouse scroll to zoom the camera in and out. You’ll see the paddle leans as you move it. Depending on the paddle lean you can deflect the ball slightly to favor the direction of the lean. This can be used to help with aiming. As you progress different power-ups drop. If you catch them with the paddle you activate the power-up. You can only have one power-up active at a time. Catching a second power-up while another is still active replaces the active one with the new one. Warning some power-ups are bad. Review the in-game manual for more details. At times the blocks (in training and ships in campaign) will fly around and drop bombs. A bomb does serious damage to the energy bar, but if you catch it with the paddle no damage is done. At times a block falls instead of blowing up. If it hits the ground it does serious damage to the energy bar. Catch it with the paddle to prevent any damage occurring. As each level progresses things get faster and more frantic. The paddle and ball get smaller and the difficulty becomes very challenging. Enjoy. See the online help for more details on the game play and interactions. -------------- Extra files for .net and xna as specified below are included as part of the installer, so no extra files are actually needed.
