This is a simple HO game made for fun and a demo piece. The setting is a large corrupt city in 1930. The given protagonist is Lucas Brooks, a young man working for a large newspaper. His sister is falsely accused of murder, but as he snoops he exposes the real killers, part of a gang of bootleggers. Graphics are photo realistic, music is appropriate to the time. Items are historically accurate. An adult can appreciate subtle humor in the newspaper transitions. Liquor and violence and corruption are mentioned, but not graphically emphasized. There is a mini pool game which generates a hint when the table is cleared.
1. Create a profile 2. Press "Play", a "newspaper" spins into view and articles relative to the game story appear highlighted in the left column. Read, click, paper disappears, and the view shifts to the World Map. 3. On the world map you can click on the news transitions to review them, the Pool icon to play pool and earn hints, and 2-4 photos (depending on stage) showing the areas you can visit. Click on any to go there. Click on World Map, lower left corner, to return. 4. In each area screen, there are a number of hidden objects, more and harder to find as the game progresses. A list is on the left hand side of the screen. When all the items in an area are found, you will be returned to the World Map. 5. After finding all the items in all four screens of the stage, you will return to the World Map. Click anywhere and 10 picture parts appear where the list was. 6. Next task is to match the picture parts back to the original screens. Visit them through the World Map photos as before. When a picture part is dragged to its matching spot, it snaps into place and a message relevant to the story appears. 7. After the first 10 are placed, 10 more appear. After these are matched, the screen goes blank and the next "newspaper" appears to advance the story.
